8 Georgia WR A.J. Green — Along with Kenny Britt, sets up Titans’ passing game for success.

10 Auburn QB Cam Newton — He’ll go No. 1 in the “real” draft, so Newton is a steal at 10.

69 New Mexico State CB Davon House — Blinding speed, but concerns about cover skills.

88 Kansas State RB Daniel Thomas — Titans will continue to lean heavily on the run game.

103 Oregon LB Casey Matthews — Reach for a player who doesn’t project as a starter.

105 Indiana OT James Brewer — Not a weak position, but a potential second-round value.

130 Arizona State DT Lawrence Guy — Surprise early entrant has ability, but little production.

171 Fort Valley State WR Ricardo Lockette — Can run fast but doesn’t play football well.

213 Stanford FB Owen Marecic — Special teams type likely to have a short career.

251 TCU S Colin Jones — Ran great forty times at the Horned Frogs’ March Pro Day.

The Titans gave away first- and fifth-round picks in 2012 to get back into the top ten for Newton.  While it’s probably not a realistic scenario, Tennessee arguably came away with the draft’s top two talents.  The rest of G.M. Mike Reinfeldt’s picks are rather underwhelming.  House, Brewer, and Guy are unlikely to help in the short term.  Matthews and Lockette (even so late, for the latter) were reach picks.  This grader has questions about whether Marecic really wants to play football full time.  Thomas was a nice pick; a powerful change-up type back behind Chris Johnson.
